Game Patch effects?

Game Patch effects?

Okay, I use glitches for oblivion and xboxlive has a patch you download so it covers them which I don't want. But I want to buy a game ad-on like one of the houses and I was wondering if you have to download the patch to be able to buy ad-ons. I have the game of the year edition if that makes a diference and my xbxoxlive membership is up for now so thats why I can't check myself.thanks!

Probably not. Just go to the marketplace through the dashboard and download the add-on. Then, when you start the game just say no to the download for the patch. (This will kick you off Xbox Live until you download the patch or play a different game). However, downloading the add-on may automatically download the patch. I doubt it though.

Actually my friend has something like this, he purchased the expansion pack via cd, not xbox live. Once he installed the add on pack it told him the game needed to be updated to play this expansion, and he was not connected to XBOX Live.
