For some Daedric stuff do Boethia's shrine quest if your a high level. If your a good level you should find an Elven Longsword on just about any marauder or vampire. I would go to shrines for good weapons or good stuff. Nocturnal Shrine is northeast of Leyawin and if you beat the quest you get an unbreakable lockpick. I would give you tons of places to get good weapons but I sold my game and erased my level 45 character.
You'll find that the higher your level, the more powerful the weapons and armor there are. The game levels with you. Alyeid ruins (the white ruins with the unique architecture) are chocked full of good items and weapons. Vampires and marauders carry the best weapons and armor, and the necromancers have some awesome spells and alchemy equipment. Umbra is an awesome sword to have (do the Clavicus Vile's daedric shrine quest but don't give it back to him) as is the dagger Sufferthorn (dark brotherhood quests). Chillrend (ship in anvil)is also a good sword for beginners. Nether Leich's staffs are also worth acquiring, some of them being very powerful (most often found in Alyeid Ruins).
