Question for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Hi im stuck on the mission where u have 2 find the wookie i get to this bit where im about to open this door and then this monster just kills all my dudes

Which monster are you referring to? Is it the Rancor? You could fight him by setting a whole crapload of mines just out of his notice, then chuck a mine at him to get him to come over, then retreat so he can't hurt you. If this doesn't kill him the first time, just do it again. It's also possible to use blasters from inside the hallway, but I'm not sure.
Anyway, if that's not the monster you're talking about, you'll just have to kill it normally...

In the room before it, there is a corpse. Search it. You will get some kind of synthesised thing. In the rancor room, use stealth and put the thing in the pile of corpses. Also put in a frag grenade. You will see a cutscene of it eating the grenade and blowing up and you're free to go.

Before you open the door, there's this arm laying on the ground. Get it's stuff, then go in the room. Don't get too close to the Rancor (that's what it's called), but go to the pile of bones. It has 2 frags and a computer spike or medpac or something. Take that stuff, but then press X to give stuff. Put back only one frag (this way you keep the other stuff) and the scent thing you got from the arm. The Rancor will eat it and blow up on the inside. Then you're free to go. Hope I helped.
