Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt Beginner Tips and Tricks

Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt.

Choosing an Archetype

In Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt there are seven different types of vampire to choose from. These are spread across four different clans and are known as archetypes. Each one has a different set of three skills: one passive, one active, and one movement ability. It is essential that you become familiar with all of them in order to choose the Archetype that best matches your playstyle. Basically, Sboteur for stealth, Prowler for tracking, Siren or Muse for outsmarting opponents, Brute or the Vandal for survivability, and the Enforcer for a good balance of offense and defense in combat. Take a look at our Archetype Tier List to find out who we consider to be the best vampire type to play as in the game.

Avoid Being Seen by Humans

You will find humans in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt at ground-level and unless you are biting them for perks, health, and power-ups it is crucial that you are not seen by them as this will trigger the Bloodhunt which will permanently mark your position on the map making you visible for one minute. The Bloodhunt will still happen regardless if you immediately kill the human that has seen you. Keep in mind also that a Bloodhunt will also be triggered if you kill a human with weapons regardless if nobody sees you do it.

Stay Up High

It is safer to remain up high on the rooftops of Prague where you can see further and are unlikely to alert the humans at ground-level. Being high up will also enable you to escape more easily from an attack as it is a lot easier to flee downwards than it is to scrabble up the side of buildings. The only time you should venture down to ground level is to bite humans or when you are looking for specific gear.

Use Rapid Fire Weapons

The best weapons to use in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt if you are new to the game are the rapid fire variety such as the assault rifle. Players are able to move fast in this game, even if you discount all the teleportation and special powers and having a weapon that is able to spray bullets will increase your chances of hitting the target.

Entity Crosses Mark the Best Loot

The red crosses that you see on the map Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt mark 'Entity', these are guarded areas that contain the best loot in the game. These high risk, high reward areas will have gold chests that contain high-power gear which is guarded by AI humans with assault rifles that will converge on your position if one sees you. The best way to grab the loot is by doing it stealthily, using telltale laser sights to work out where the enemy is hiding. Make sure you get out of the area the moment you have what you need.

Choose your Spawn Point Carefully

At the beginning of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt you can choose your spawn point. Keep in mind if you select one that has plenty of Entity Crosses, high-loot areas, and places of interest such as gun shops there will likely be many other players going there early on as well intent on looting the items they offer, this makes these areas dangerous firefight zones. It is recommended that you start by taking the same spawn point for every match, because the familiar routine that it provides will help you learn the mechanics of the game that much more easily.

Ambush Players

The best way to take down a player as quickly as possible in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt is to hit hard and unexpectedly by ambushing them with a heavy attack. By doing this you won't give the player time to recover and use vampire powers such as the Enforcers ability to go indestructible and complicate matters.

Take a look at our Weapons Tier List to find out how the various types of weapons available in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt compare against each other.
