1. Practice and develop effective attack combinations - It may seem that your random button mash is enough to propel you through the chapters of the game, but there is actually a limit to getting through the missions with this. Remember to pitch-in some random sideswipes and blocks to get you surviving the entire chapter without having to use expensive repair kits. On top of this, successfully landing combos generates higher experience and rewards as well.

2. Heavy Attack Pros and Cons - Depending on the situation, Heavy Attacks can either be invaluable to your attack pattern or very disastrous. Notice that the Heavy Attack is performed with quite a longer animation? This is to give the opponet the chance to dash away from it. So the next time you try to perform it yourself, be reminded that your'e giving your opponent the chance to break your combo chain. At the same time, the Heavy Attack can easily break a block as well. So always keep in mind the good time to use it. Otherwise, try to mix in some dashes and sideswipes as feints to make it extra effective.

3. Distance yourself from the opponent prior to your combo - primarily engage your enemy from afar. The reason for this is that the additional hits from your ranged weapon adds up to the combo hits. This can secure at least 2 more hits before you dash forward and execute your attack combination. Another good thing about distancing yourself from your opponent is that you get to memorize enemy attack patterns easily with manageable consequences. A lot of times, the enemy will execute a sideswipe when you are firing them from afar and then followed by a dash. And as soon as they dash forward, this leaves you a great opening to perform an attack (with proper timing of course).

4. Ready to block after your combo - It is almost sure that the opponent's AI is to backlash at you after a successful combo. So always be ready to block when you're done with your combo. Otherwise, sprint backwards to safety and wait for your next opening.

5. Be mindful when to use Special Attack - Check whether the enemy is in block position or in your attack's reach before executing the special. Although the Special Attack can't be stopped when it is executed, it wont penetrate if the opponent is in block position prior to executing it. On the other hand, be mindful of the opponent's special and your HP gauge. The enemy AI perfectly times the use of its special when it is given an opening.
