Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction Beginner Tips and Tricks

Listed below are several Beginners Tips and Tricks which will help you in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction.

Solo Play

Although Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction is a multiplayer game, it can still be completed solo as the base difficulty of the game scales to the size of your squad. Trying to take on Extractions's by yourself is not easy and to have any chance of being successful you will need to make sure you pack a self-revive item in case of an emergency.

Compare Loadouts

Before you tackle any given map, it is essential that you take the time to check your teammates loadouts in order to ensure your squad has a nice balance of supportive, offensive and defensive items. It is important that your squad has packed scanners that help locate enemies and VIPs, explosive ordinances that can clear a path, extra ammo, and Glue Grenades to slow down Archaeans in your vicinity.

Stealth

It is crucial that you do not alert a horde of Archaeans to your presence while trying to complete an objective, as doing so will make it substantially more difficult. Make sure you use your detection-based skills and devices to pinpoint enemies so you know where they are located at all times, and only advance by crouching or walking. If you are compromised by the enemy you need to take them down as quickly as possible before they can call reinforcements and swarms of Archaeans converge on your location. It is essential that you have at least one silenced weapon in your loadout.

Killing the Enemy

You need to be careful when you kill Archaeans in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction as they release biofluid called Sprawl, this is basically a tar like gunk that will slow you down and make you an easy target for enemies to attack. There are two ways in which you can prevent this from happening, you can either stealth kill Archaean or alternately aim for their weak points, which will be the glowing spots located somewhere on their bodies. Targeting this weak spot will stop them from leaking Sprawl once they are killed and also enable you to dispatch them quicker. Keep in mind that you don't want to shoot at a Breacher or Bloater's weak point when they are in proximity to you or your teammates as this will cause them to explode and injure anyone that is standing nearby, against those species of Archaean you should target the arms and legs when shooting them. This will kill them but because they didn't explode they will not release any Sprawl. Take a look at our Enemy Weak Spot Guide to find out where to target the different species of Archaeans you encounter.

Clear Nests to Stop Spawning

Try to take out as many Nests as possible ad you work your way around each Sub-Zone, it is important that you do this because they act as spawn points for more Archaeans if they get alerted to your presence. Destroying Nests will also reduce the amount of Sprawl they produce to slow you down.

Destroy the Sprawl

If you are attacked by a swarm of Archaean it will be impossible to focus on their weak spots during battle to prevent them leaking Sprawl everywhere, it will be a case of just trying to survive the encounter. If you manage to do so you will be able to evaporate any Sprawl afterwards that is in your way, so you can walk by like normal by using melee attacks or with gunfire.

Environmental Hazards

Sprawl is not the only environmental hazzard you need to keep an eye out for in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction that will hinder your progress. Be weary of any enemy that has a green glow, as this indicates they will emit a cloud of poisonous gas when defeated that will cause a substantial amount of your HP to deplete if you get caught up in it. If is therefore best to eliminate this type of enemy from a distance and wait for the cloud to disperse before moving through that area. Also pay attention to teammates that have spores attached to them as these will need to be shot or meleed off before they can erupt and cause area damage.

Support your Team

It is crucial to support your teammates in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction however you can in order to keep the team alive. This means watching their back by protecting them while they complete an objective. If a teammate does get KO'd you should make every effort possible to get them to the Extraction Pod as 'losing' an Operative will result in activating a MIA Rescue mission.

Rescue Multiple MIA Operators at Once

If you are playing multiplayer, it is inevitable that at some point you will lose Operators in your team during the same incursion and will return together to perform an MIA Rescue. Keep in mind if this happens, you only need to complete a single objective to recover all of your Operators. One of the Sub-Zones will feature a Chimera Archaean Tree with a single body trapped within, if you successfully manage to complete the rescue you will return each individual player's MIA Operator.

Take a look at our How to Unlock More Operators guide to find out how you can get additional characters with unique abilities and weapons in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction.
