You will be able to start constructing a base once you and Amira have recruited survivors to your cause. This makeshift fortress will contain multiple structures each of which has its own specific purpose, these are explained below.

Headquarters

The nerve centre of your whole operations is your headquarters, the level of which determines your level in the game. The fortifications of your base will also increase the higher the level of your headquarters. If however through walker or player attacks your fortifications total decreases to zero your base will automatically get relocated to a random place on the map. If this happens your fortifications will be restored but any injured or killed survivors and looted supplies will not be restored with this move. You can howevery try and repair fortifications before it decreases to zero at the headquarters every 30 seconds until they are full strength.

Survivor Barracks

This building controls the number of Survivors you can have and the maximum level to which they can be trained.

Broadcast Tower

This building enables you to search for Survivors and gives you the option of either adding them to your society or trading them for resources. Leveling up the Broadcast Tower helps you recruit higher level Survivors and search a wider area of the map for them.

Council Chambers

This building enables you to level up the Council members who lead your raiding and scavenging missions. These familiar characters from The Walking Dead comic and TV series become unlocked by collecting comic covers. You can see how close you are to adding or leveling up these characters by simply tapping the 'Manage Council' icon on your Council Chambers.

Warehouse

This building is where your resources such as Food, Salvage, Lumber and Fuel Pallets are stored. When you upgrade the Warehouse early the number of Pallets will increase, then later in the game when you upgrade the Warehouse you will increase the amount of each resource protected from raids by other players.

Research Annex

This building enables you to research a wide variety of boosts that increase effectiveness or reduce the time needed for specific tasks. Some research can only be unlocked once the Research Annex hits a certain level.

Community Center

The Walking Dead: March to War equivalent of joining a guild is joining a Community and enables you to help other Community members reduce the time on their base improvement, healing, or research projects. It also allows you to ask your Community to help you do the same.

Range

This structure is used to train Survivors and Council members. When you upgrade a Range you will increase the speed of training and reduces the cost.

Infirmary

This builidng works the same as a Range but used for healing instead of training.
