Aim and Fire Simultaneously

The original arcade House of the Dead was played without a gyroscope which mean't you had to aim first and then shoot second. The controllers available today with a thumbstick and shoulder trigger enable you to do both at the same time. Practice moving your crosshair with your target and firing as this will enable you to do more damage. Becoming proficient at aiming and firing at a quick target will help you considerably during the game as most of the enemies are constantly moving fast. There are however some bosses you will encounter where it is more beneficial to let them come to you as following them will leave you vulnerable to damage. Against these enemies it is better to keep your crosshair still.

Deflect Projectiles

The House of the Dead: Remake is a rail shooter where you cannot move your agent's position, all you can control is your weapon and the crosshair. This means you will not be able to dodge out of the way when faced with zombies such as Drake, Moody, and Harris who are all capable of throwing projectiles at you. The solution to this problem during exchanges is to shoot the projectile heading your way, so you knock it back and protect yourself from taking damage. Earn Extra Points

Most vases, boxes, and other breakables you find scattered throughout the Curien Mansion in The House of the Dead: Remake contain bonuses that can be game-changers. This makes finding them essential for getting extra points and racking up a high score in challenges and for passing certain point thresholds to reveal different endings. The number of points that are required to get the different endings is 62,000 points. Remember also that once you have used up all your Continue Tokens you will need to pay in points to stay alive.

Aim for Weak Points

Each of the different types of zombies you encounter in The House of the Dead: Remake has a weak point you can exploit which can take them down quicker if you shoot at it. Once you have defeated a zombie you will be able to find out where their weak spot is for future playthoughs by going to the Creature Library. Most zombie weak spots are the head, but there are somewhere it will be their chest, stomach or arms. Rescue Scientists for Rewards

Rescuing scientists in The House of the Dead: Remake will enable you to gain achievements and get access to more weapons, it will also often give you a first aid kit. You will find scientists in each chapter being terrorized by zombies and in order to successfully rescue them you need to shoot down the zombie chasing them before it can reach them.

Customize your Game

The House of the Dead: Remake has an 'Options' menu that allows you to customize the different features in the game, these include the gyroscope controls and crosshair options. Take advantage of this to adjust the game so it heightens your experience. It is recommended that you set up an automatic reload function, so you don't have to press the reload button every five seconds.
