Skyrim, the 5th installment of The Elder Scrolls series revolves around the northern part of Tamriel, Skyrim, which is in a civil war and under the threat of the return of dragons. You play as a dragonborn, a person born with the power to use the voice, prisoner who's destiny is to save Skyrim from the threat of Alduin. Skyrim is an RPG that can be played in either 1st or 3rd person and one that gives players a wide range of choice. Such as ten different races to choose from, plenty of different play styles, and four different guilds.
The graphics are absolutely stunning, every tiny aspect of the foliage has a great bit of detail and effort put into it. Each item in the game can be picked up and looked at closely, each weapon type is unique from others. Far away mountains look beautiful and realistic, NPCs look stunning well-made and unique as well. Everything you find in the game will be well made, realistic, and overall very good.
Music is stunning and fluid, NPC dialogue is well done as well, not choppy or slow. There are many different actors enlisted for various unimportant NPCs, you will rarely hear similarities between two different NPCs. The music is plentiful, different tracks for different areas and situations. The main theme has much effort put into it as well, as it is heard often when players level up or meet dragons. Overall I would say that the sound in the game is well deserving of a ten out of ten.
This easily gets a ten for it has many different things to do, different battle styles and when bored with fighting one has a choice to take on a few other tasks. Battle is fast and fluid, players will be able to fight large groups of enemies without the game slowing down at all. Players also have a wide range of choice when it comes to battle they can dual wield weapons, or dual wield spells. Unlike in Oblivion where players selected 7 major skills to level up, in Skyrim all skills that you level up go to your overall leveling. There are tons of different creatures to fight each quite unique with much thought and effort put into them. For instance giants are peaceful only attacking when you attack them or there mammoths, which also only attack if harmed. Dragons are a common threat, also quite random, flying over and attacking towns or just finding you in the middle of no where. Giving players epic fights that will leave you clearly impressed.
Another ten just because of how massive it is, for those who have played the previous Elder Scrolls games or any fallout game you will know how big of games Bethesda makes. Skyrim has many quests, dozens of small quests, miscellaneous side quests, and a few larger quests from respective large groups. There are tons of dungeons to be explored and Skyrim itself has tons to offer. One can smith, mine for stuff, make stuff, buy a house, even get married. Even if you beat the main story line quest you will have plenty to do as quests are generated randomly.
10/10 one of the few games that really deserves this and gets it. For hardcore RPGers this is a must, for casual RPGers this is a must, for pretty much any gamer this is a must. It has tons to offer and hours of gameplay. Bethesda really outdid themselves on this game and it deserves to be atleast tried once. Gamplay is fast and fluid, graphics are stunning, sound is well fitting, and lastability is just plain epic.
