How to get Ammuniton Guide

The various firearms you can acquire in The Callisto Protocol each require ammunition to use, so it is essential that you know how to get this resource quickly. Take a look at our How to get Ammunition Guide to find out the different ways you can get your hands on ammo, so you have a decent supply for when you need to take down the tougher foes you encounter during the main story.

Complete Story Objectives

You will find yourself accumulating ammunition naturally simply by playing the game and going through the story objectives. This however will not be a lot of ammunition which means if you want to maintain a healthy supply you will also need to get it through the sources listed below.

Stomp Biophages

Remember to get into the habit of approaching Biophages you have downed and are laying on the floor, so you can perform a stomp to collect the bullet and shells they drop. The Biophage are the primary enemies of The Callisto Protocol. They are humans mutated from the Biophage Pathogen.

Search the Prison

Make sure as you explore the Black Iron Prison you search the various containers or chests that you find scattered around as there is always the possibility that they will contain ammunition.

Purchase at a Reforger

Once you are experienced enough to progress through the game with minimal supplies you can sell consumables you have collected in your inventory for Callisto Credits at a Reforger terminal and then use the money to buy ammo.

Note: You will generally find in The Callisto Protocol that ammunition drops more frequently from enemies when you are low on them. Also keep in mind that items obtained from enemies will depend on your current health and how much ammunition you have. This basically means if you are low on health and near to death it is more likely that you will obtain healing instead of ammunition.
