Introduction

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is a real time Role-Playing playing game from BioWare and Lucasarts, and it is set in the Old Republic Era, the era of the Mandalorians and the original Jedi Order, and the first time the Sith really revealed themselves to the entire galaxy. Here I will review one of the most hyped and one of the better made Star Wars games in that large family.

Graphics

The graphics amaze me, and still amaze me to this day. They are utterly outstanding in my mind. They are up to par, and in my mind are very well derserving of my seal of approval and, of course, the ever loved ranking of ten out of ten. They were amazing, and I loved every second of looking at this eye candy game.

Sound

The sound was actually very good. The swords clashes were believable, the lightsabers sounded real, the blasters sounded amazing...I could go on, but the sound really drew me in.

Now the thing that really blew me away is that the main character would say things during a battle. Normally, main characters in Role-Playing games can't say anything during the game, but this time, he could. This really made me like the game a whole lote more.

Gameplay

The gameplay was good. The real-time combat was very well done, it really was good. And the way you picked Feats, which determined your character's combat abilities, was first-class. It really let you take your character in all different directions.

The system of conversation options would affect your alignment-such as, if you elected to kill someone, you got Dark Side points, but if you saved them, you got Light Side points. This just added further to the already outstanding character customization.

The weapon and armor upgrading was mediocre. I found it much as "find the best stuff and click". I really would have liked it if it were a bit more complex.

And the two sides really gave it replay value, as each side of the Force had different items and slightly different storylines. And there was a feature that if your character had enough Dark Side points, he/she was featured as the Dark Lord of the Sith on the Main Menu screen, which I thought was outstandingly cool.

Overall, a 9 out of 10.

Lastability

This game will last for years to come. It has slight issues to get it working from the disc these days, but buying it from Steam or Direc2Drive makes it work perfectly. This game will be around for my kids, I believe, and they will love it just as much as I.

Overall

I give this game my Seal of Awesomeness. It delivered in so many ways that just sucked you into it over and over again. It had replay value, which is always good, and the elements of strategy, space, adventure, and the touch of feeling like you know what they're fighting for puts this game over the top. This game absolutely changed my standards for RPGs.

And as my closing note of my second game review for Super Cheats, I recommend this game to any RPG fan, regardless if they like Star Wars.

Final Score: 92%
