Rogue Legacy 2 Trailer

In Rogue Legacy 2 you take control of a knight who must explore procedurally generated dungeons to collect its treasures and defeat enemies. Every time you die, your children will succeed you, and each child is unique.

This means whenever you start a run again, you will have to pick a random character with different genetic traits, which may either enhance or hinder your combat efficiency. While exploring a dungeon, you will also collect Heirlooms, which are permanent ability upgrades that are hidden in special rooms.

Rogue Legacy 2 Cheats, Tips Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why it is important to know the trait of your character and take on every enemy you encounter. As well as these hints and tips, we also have a Beginner Guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:

  • Know your Trait

Make sure you learn the traits in Rogue Legacy 2 so that when you die and are presented with several heirs to choose from you will be able to be mindful of their trait, which can be detrimental to your run.

There are some traits which will help you considerably such as the seeing every chest location on your map or increasing your damage exponentially. There are also however some traits that will make your run more challenging such not being able to see your health bar.

If you are unsure what a trait will do during a run you can discover what it does by viewing it in your 'Stat Sheet' via the 'Start' menu. It is important knowing what your trait does before going on a run as they affect your progression significantly.

Take a look at our Traits Guide to find out everything you need to know about them.

  • Take On Every Enemy

It is essential in Rogue Legacy 2 that you take on every enemy that you encounter so that you are able to learn each enemy's attack patterns because although no two runs are the same, each biome has the same enemy types.

If you do this you will also accumulate lots of Gold, get food or potion drops and some of your health or mana will be replenished. Also by methodically clearing each room as you progress through the castle will enable you to move efficiently if you need to backtrack to another room.

  • Play Regions in Order

There are a total of six different regions to explore in Rogue Legacy 2 with each being more complex and challenging than the last. Although you can visit any of these regions it is recommended that until you become familiar with the game you tackle them in their order of difficulty.

Listed below are the regions and the order you should proceed through them in the castle.

    - Citadel Agartha

    - Axis Mundi

    - Kerguelen Plateau

    - The Stygian Study

    - The Sun Tower

    - Pishon Dry Lake

  • Accumulate Gold

It is essential that you accumulate as much Gold as possible during a run as you will need it to purchase Manor upgrades, Armor Sets, and Runes. There are several ways which you can get Gold during a run, these include taking your time and clearing every room in a region.

Opening chests which tend to be out in the open, although there will be some that are hidden and will be behind a breakable wall that must be opened via your Class Talent. The bonus Gold multiplayer your successor may possess.
