Introduction

After a lot of years Capcom returns with another episode, based on one of the most famous "survival Horror" saga: Resident Evil. Firstly appeared on Gamecube, this time Capcom did a really professional job, not only doing an excellent conversion work, with a minimal lose of detail and 3D, but they did an incredible work, expanding the game with new features, costumes and two new game modes! This is what I call a professional conversion job!

Graphics

This is not simply graphics: it's a masterpiece! They transformed the 8 and 16 Bit textures from the Gamecube version in the 4 and 8 Bit PS2 with a really minimal loss! Forget the rooms of the Resident Evil serie, here you can look and turn your view everywhere! No fixed cameras, no dead angles! Of course, everything comes with a price, and I am not talking of a long loading time (which is not present), but you will need a little time to get used to this absolutely new and fantastic type of game view. But you will surely love it.

Sound

Of course Capcom didn't forget about the sound: crystal voices and a quite good music will follow you through the entire game. The only thing I can argue about is the sound volume, a little slow, and the lack of music in some game locations, but everything has been done only to improve the game tension, and especially YOUR tension!

Gameplay

First of all: forget your old slow and easy to shoot zombies. This time you will face a new, fast and really dangerous opponent: an internal parasite called "Las Plagas". Your opponents will be fast, agile, and difficult to shoot! But the game is so fun, long and challenging that you will love this new dimension of fighting and surviving.

Lastability

This game is almost endless! The story is interesting and long, enemies are though and quite too smart. There are a lot of weapons, for every taste, and every one of them comes with a fantastic upgrade system.
In addition: new outfit set, a new weapon, and two new games ("Mercenaries" and "Separate Ways" than the wonderful Gamecube version!

Overall

What can I say that it has not been said before in this review? This game is absolutely a masterpiece in the action and horror serie, plus it's one of the most fun and long games in all the PS2 game range.
You have absolutely to buy it, because it's not simply worth the price, but it's truly a real investment that you will play a lot of times, even if years have been passed from the purchase.
Buy it! And you will never regret it!
