How to Craft Pokeballs and Potions in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it is essential that you know how to craft Pokeballs and Potions as they will be required in order to capture wild Pokemon and complete your Pokedex. Unlike previous games Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place before Pokeballs were mass-produced and sold to trainers in Poke Marts, so you will need to craft your own at a workbench using materials you have collected on your journey. It is also possible to craft on the go using a Crafting Kit but when you do so you will only be able to use the items in your inventory to craft.

Pokeballs

In total, there are nine different types of Pokeballs you can craft and each is ideal for a particular situation when capturing wild Pokemon. Unlike previously where you purchase their crafting recipes you now have to unlock them by leveling up your Star Rank in the Survey Corps. Each Star Rank that you gain will enable you to unlock a new Pokeball recipe. There is also the possibility that you will receive a handful of that type of Pokeball as an additional reward when you level up. Obtaining Pokeball crafting recipes is unlike most other crafting recipes in the game which can be brought from the Craftworks in Jubilife Village or earned by competing various missions.

Potions

It is important that you are stocked up with Potions as some of the wild Pokemon you will be trying to capture can attack your trainer causing damage. If your trainer takes too much damage during a battle, they will go down and have to retreat to the nearest basecamp. Similar to previous Pokemon games, you can prevent your Pokemon from fainting by using Potions, these become crucial at high levels where it only takes one or two hits to knock the Pokemon out. The recipes for Potions become unlocked automatically during your journey as you play through the story and learn about crafting. You can craft potions at your basecamp or in Jubilife village. A Potion Crafting Recipe is x1 Oran Berry x1 Medicinal Leek.

Where to Find Materials

Pokeballs and Potions both use materials that can be found all over Obsidian Fieldlands, the starting area of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Apricorn can be found by seraching trees with brown apple-shaped objects. To collect them just throw your Pokemon at the tree, and they will shake if for you enabling you to pick up the Apricorn that drops. Tumblestone can be found in any rocky material node, simply throw your Pokemon at the mineral deposit to shake it and get Tumblestone. Oran Berry is dropped by enemies and also found in trees with blue apple-shaped objects. Medicinal Leek is dropped by enemies and also found on the ground in grassy areas of most zones.
