How to Change Clothes

A new feature added to Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shinning Pearl is the ability to change your character's outfit. Take a look at our How to Change Clothes guide to find out what you need to do to be able to customize your character.

The ability to customize your character in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shinning Pearl is not available right away. In order to access it and change your trainers style you need to reach Veilstone City, which is where you will find the third gym. This takes a fair amount of progression through the game before you reach it as it is the ninth town you come across in your journey and is east on your Town Map. If you go to the Pokemon Center there you will find the Metronme Style Shop nearby, it is the building that is adorned by two Clefairy.

At the Metronome Style Shop you will be able to purchase new outfits or change into any that you already own. There are nine different styles of outfits available in the shop and one additional style which you will be able to obtain through Mystery Gift. Unlike other games in the Pokemon series such as Pokemon Sword and Shield you cannot pick and choose which articles of clothing you want your character to wear, you can only equip the entire set at once.

To get the Mystery Gift outfit in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shinning Pearl you must purchase it before the 22nd February, 2022. To claim it go to the Mystery Gift option in your menu and select 'Get via internet'. Then select 'Clothing Gift' to receive the Platinum Style outfit which changes your character into either Lucas' or Dawn's clothing from Pokemon Platinum. This though can only be done once you have reached the Metronme Style Shop in Veilstone City.
