How to get Mythical Manaphy and Phione

If you purchase either Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shiny Pearl before the 22nd of Febraury 2022 you will receive a free mythical Manaphy egg via the Mystery Gift Function. This How to get Mythical Manaphy and Phione guide will tell you how to claim these Pokemon as rewards.

Manaphy is a small, blue, aquatic mythical Pokemon which you can collect when you receive a free egg that hatches. This is the only way this water type mythical Pokemon can be obtained. In order to download Manaphy you will first need to enable the Mystery Gift function which you will be able to do approximately two hours into the adventure. To unlock it, head to Jubilife City, which is one of the first areas you will visit, and go to the second floor of the Jubilife TV building. If you then speak to the TV producer that is there, he will unlock the Mystery Gift function. Now follow these steps to download the egg:

- Select 'Mystery Gift' from the menu

- Select 'Get via internet'

- Follow the prompt to connect online

- Select the Manaphy egg from the list of gifts to download it

Manaphy is unique to legendary and mythical Pokemon as it is one of only two that hatch from eggs like this. In order to hatch Manaphy you need to walk a certain number of steps in the game with it in your party. You can halve the number of steps required to hatch Manaphy by having a Pokemon with Flame Body in your party. Once the Manaphy egg has hatched, go to the Pokemon Nursery in Solacon Town and leave Manaphy there along with Ditto so that it breeds. When you return later you will be handed an egg that will contain Phione, another mythical Pokemon.

Note: Ditto will be locked until you finish the game. You can though trade with a friend, if they have made it later into the game, in order to get Phione.
