I just found out I missed it. I did he required mission a long time ago but 1 of the sons died. Is there any other way to get it?

If not, whats the other best weapon in the game?

Ill rate 10 a good answer ;)

No there's no other way to obtain it, sorry.
And in my opinion, Umbra is the best weapon in the game. You can get it in the quets from the deadra statue of Clavicus Vile. You have to return the sword for him but just keep it.

You can create a fake copy by enchanting a simple longsword, sorry but no way to complete the quest. AND Umbra's sword and the Honorblade is the one of best swords to have. 2nd best are the Dawnfang/Dustfang.

Chillrend is a pretty crap weapon compared to other weapons in the game. Personally I think the best weapon is an ebony sword that I enchanted myself. Just keep leveling and you will gradually find better weapons as you get higher.

The easiest way to get an awesome weapon is to enchant one yourself. I like my weapon, I took an akaviri katana, put on about 25 points of fire frost and shock damage, and also added a soul trap spell to it. That soul trap spell is one I higly suggest putting on a weapon, the best part is that you only need the soul trap to last slightly longer than the damage you put on the weapon, that way you always get an automatic soul trap when you kill a creature (assuming you have a soul gem with enough room to hold it).
