Lives don't play a major role in the game until things start to get difficult. You can see your current quantity of lives by looking in the middle at the top of the screen - the icon indicated by a heart. If you complete a level successfully, you will maintain your number of lives. If you fail a level, you will lose a life. If your Lives reach zero, you cannot play the game until they have recharged.
How to get more lives:
To get more lives you can purchase more using Facebook Credits, or alternatively if you wait for 30 minutes (you can see the time remaining next to the heart on screen), you will receive one back - this is the time they roughly take to recharge. You can have a maximum of five lives. Note that if you quit a level, this also counts as failing.
TIP: Although friends can give you lives, once you reach 5 you cannot get anymore, so any extras that you have coming your way would be wasted.
It's important to try not to run out of lives, but you can get more easily enough.

At level470 cant get past need help I love the game
Are there any REAL cheats like on the video games? For example on some of the video games there are cheats that you can use to have unlimited lives.
how do you send i life to someone???????
I changed the date on my phone & cleared all three mystery quests in the same day. Now when i corrected the date settings in my phone, it is showing 2000 minutes for one life..What should I do????? please help.
On my phone I can get to my inbox to get or give more lives after I run out of the initial 5. But on facebook I can only see my inbox when I first open the game. So if I have been given lives, I cannot access them after the fact, like I can on my phone. Is there a inbox icon that I am not seeing?
I've been playing for about 3 months now and I'm up to level 401.
There are some levels that are close to impossible to win. I have had to buy extra moves and use hammers to get that last block. I've also found that watching the YouTube walk through of a level before I play it really helps me come up with a good strategy to beat it.
As you play each new section (which comes up after so many levels) of the game will introduce new obstacles but watching the YouTube videos will help you figure out how to overcome them.
I also found several sites which have links to give you free coins. This really helps to buy more hammers. Just do a search for "pet rescue saga free coins".
As far as lives go I ask my pet rescue saga friends for lives and usually get them. I also give lives all the time so that helps you because the people you give lives to will give you more lives in return.

It seems that for a "free" game it sure does cost you a lot of money to play. There isn,t any other way but to buy your way past certain points in the game. Also, it would be nice to have some ideas or hints given as the game gets harder to play. For example: I'm on level 51. I will be playing with moves on the board and all of a sudden it will say, " not enough pets saved" and the level ends. Why???? I can't find a reason in the goggle hints either. Love the game, but a little more info would be nice.
I can't unlock level 28, no matter how many lives I have or how many times it says that I have won 27....help!

How in the world do you unlock a level? It says to ask friends for lives but that does not work. They send me lives but it still doesn't unlock the level. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Yes, both getting the required lives and points are needed to move on to the next level.
I'm on level 66 and its to save three pets and I'll get 50000 and when I do save 3 pets it tells me I dont have enough points to move to the next level do have to save 3 pets and score 50000 points
