Coins are Pet Rescue Saga's main currency. They are, however, only used for one thing, primarily, and that is to purchase the Block Buster Boosters. To earn Coins, you simply need to progress through the game, completing each stage.
Many players will find that they accumulate far more coins than they are able to spend on Block Buster Boosters. Despite this, there is in fact no other resource to spend your Coins on. It's worth saving them up but, all the same, they are nowhere near as important in Pet Rescue Saga as they are in other Facebook games. If you want an easy route to succeed, you're going to need Facebook Credits.

Only plying on the PC you can get your coins and spend them on hammers.
Before you push play, choose hammer and buy. That is the only thing you can buy with coins :p
This does not work. It brings up the screen to purchase gold bars.
Before you enter a level and push play. Click on the hammer and you can get 3 with coins. That is all you can buy with coins. :p
I'm on the verge of deleting this game it seems so far you have to spend money to get anywhere and Ive got better stuff to spend my hard earned cash on I can't even get to the next level now without paying for it very rude I think

How do I use the Pet Coins other than on the "Hammer"? It appears that several of us faithful Pet Rescue Saga players are having trouble spending these coins on needed Block Busters. Could you send us a simple answer on how to spend these, since we share the same problem and frustration?
How do you buy the gold bars with coins?
I cannot use my coins either. When I press the booster as was suggested earlier, it only allows me to use bars which I'm not doing. I cannot use the coins for anything. Very frustrating! Why have something in the game if you can't use it?
I finally figured this out, you can use your silver coins. The above comments are correct. You HAVE to select the hammer booster before you press the play button. Two other notes, 1) you can ONLY get hammer boosters with the coins, and, 2) you cannot have ANY hammers already. When done right, your coins will give you three "free" hammers. IF there is a way to use coins for other boosters, I don't know what it is.

I just watched a YouTube video. The trick to using your coins is to buy the booster BEFORE you start the level. Right before you hit play, they have a choice of boosters that would be used for that level. Click on one, and it will let you buy it with coins. Hope that makes sense and helps us all out!
