The Art to Writing Letters
When you write a letter with a gift attached to it you get a random chosen item in
Exchange. However, the quality of the letter that you sent to animal affects the gift you recieve in return. I would think the animal's current affection (I'm also a Harvest Moon fan) towards you is a factor of the gift's type. I believe there are three situations that affect the quality of the gift you recieve in turn.
1. If the animal doesn't like you that much and your letter is poorly written you will recieve a fruit or article of clothing.
2. If the letter is written well you'll recieve a piece furniture regardless of the animal's affection toward.
3. The third situation is based on random when you write a poorly written letter and the animal likes you a lot it can be Furniture, Clothing, or Fruit.
Also if you send a gift and change your mind, the animal who you sent to you may sell or give it back to you if they don't like it. I'm not so sure but pretty sure this is what happens when I give gifts to them and they sold it right back to me.
The difference between a good letter and a bad letter is the length. A good letter is long while a bad letter is short. I've been writing long letters and I've always recieved furniture for over a month. Then I wrote like three word letters and I've recieved a few piece of clothes and some fruit. That sudden, yet intentional change must have had something to do with it.
