Unlock Characters Guide

MultiVersus is a free-to-play fighter platform game where you play as Warner Bros. characters. Your objective in a match is to defeat your opponent by knocking them outside the arena. Take a look at our Unlock Characters Guide to find out how you can play as your favorite character.

Each of the characters in MultiVersus possesses unique skills which you will want to acquire as they will make completing the objectives a lot easier. Completing the Today's Missions and Seasonal Milestones objectives will lead to gaining experience which will grant you new levels of the Battle Pass and also help you unlock your favorite character as well as gaining plenty of new cosmetics, perks, and Gold.

How to Unlock Characters

When you begin playing MultiVersus the characters will now be available to use. The only character you will have access to is Wonder Woman which you will be rewarded with when you complete the basic training mode. There are three ways in which you can unlock further characters.

Gold

The free in-game currency used in MultiVersus is Gold and you will earn it during gameplay. The amount of Gold needed to unlock characters differs from 15000 and 3000.

Wonder Woman - N/A

Shaggy - 1500 Gold

Taz - 1500 Gold

Garnet - 1500 Gold

Finn - 2000 Gold

Batman - 2000 Gold

Superman - 2000 Gold

Harley Quinn - 2000

Bugs Bunny - 2000 Gold

Velma - 2000 Gold

Jake - 2000 Gold

Lebron James - 2000 Gold

Reindog - 2000 Gold

Iron Giant - 3000 Gold

Steven Universe - 3000 Gold

Arya Stark - 3000 Gold

Tom and Jerry - 3000 Gold

There are several ways in which you can earn Gold in MultiVersus and they are listed below.

- Completing MultiVersus starter missions grants you 2000 Gold.

- Take part in public matches, the amount of Gold received varies depending on the outcome of the match. Winning the match gets you more gold than dropping out.

- Leveling up your character and hitting level 5 will get you 100 Gold.

- Ranking up the Battle Pass can help you earn 500 Gold.

Character Token

Character Token is an in-game currency in MultiVersus that you can use to unlock characters. The only way to get Character Tokens is by purchasing the Founders Packs which aside from Character Tokens come along with some other goodies. You cannot buy Character Tokens individually. Listed below are the three Founders Packs that are currently available and what they contain.

Standard Founder's Pack ($39.99):

15 Character Tokens, 1 Exclusive Rare Banner, and 300 Gleamium

Deluxe Founder's Pack ($59.99):

20 Character Tokens, 1 Exclusive Rare Banner, 1 Epic banner, 1 Epic Ring out effect, 1 Premium battle pass, and 1000 Gleamium

Premium Founder's Pack ($99.99):

30 Character Tokens, 1 Exclusive Rare Banner, 2 Epic and Legendary banners, 2 Epic and Legendary ring-out effects, one unique nameplate, three premium battle passes, and 2500 Gleamium

All the characters in MultiVersus can be unlocked using Character Tokens. When you purchase any of the Founder Packs you have the option of either using the Character Tokens to instantly unlock characters or saving them for upcoming launches where there is always the possibility of additional characters being added to the roster.

Gleamium

Gleamium is the premium currency in MultiVersus, and it can only be acquired by spending real money. You need 700 Gleamium to unlock any character in the game, no matter what amount of Gold that character requires. It is advised that you do not spend your money on Gleamium as you will earn enough Gold eventually just by playing the game to unlock any character in the game.
