Lost Ark Pet Guide

Pets in Lost Ark are not just cute companions that follow you around, they are capable of providing with plenty of useful options such as auto-looting of items, and providing combat buffs. The auto-loot aspect of pets is a core functionality you will find on all pets, paid for or otherwise. Combat buffs and other utility effects require a Crystalline Aura subscription. Pets also provide useful functions that include item repair, additional storage and mailbox checking. This Pet Guide will tell you everything you need to know about them.

How do you get Pets

There are several ways in which you can get pets in Lost Ark, the main ones are through Founder's Packs, as a reward for completing the free in-game 'Learning About Pets' quest, and the Cash Shop.

Founder's Packs

Founder's Packs are a set of four bundles available to celebrate the launch of Lost Ark. The Founder's Packs are purchased either directly from Steam, or as codes from Amazon that are redeemed through Steam, and are available for purchase. Every Founder's Pack at any level (Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum) includes a Founder's Exclusive Pet item which means it is possible to begin Lost Ark with a companion of your choosing straight away instead of waiting until the first mission to get one. When you open the Founder's Exclusive Pet item you will have the choice between three different colored cats, the brown one is named James, the black one is named Nero, and the white one is named Lizabet. You will be able to purchase all of your Founder's Pack items from the Store once you have completed the Prologue.

'Learning About Pets' Quest

The 'Learning About Pets' quest will become available after you have completed the 'Demons in Prideholme' main story mission. This is not a difficult quest, it involves communicating with several NPCs and completing some simple tasks. To begin this quest you just need to go to Prideholm Tavern and talk with the Innkeeper. When you finally talk to the pet management NPC of Working Achatemeow you will be offered the Epic-quality White Bunny as a pet. If you miss this quest, there's also a 'Guide' quest unlocked at level 50 that grants a walking egg pet when completed.

Cash Shop

The most common way of obtaining a pet is by purchasing them from the Cash Shop using Crystals and Royal Crystals (the premium currency in the game). Pets you can currently buy there are Helgaia, Saphia, and Totoiki. Helgaia is a bird and is available in four different colors. Saphia is a creature that resembles a fox and is available in six different colors at a cost of 540 Crystals. Totoiki costs 1300 Royal Crystals and is available in four different types.

How to Summon Pets

In order to summon your pet you need to go to your inventory and press Alt + J. Then select the 'Summon' option to call your companion. The pet will appear right away and follow you around.

If you are not able to see the pet you want to summon, you might have not registered the pet yet. The pet you summon will auto-loot nearby items and grant additional buffs providing you have Crystalline Aura active.
