Complete the 'Niccolo's Business Unusual' quest, followed by the 'Tiny Sorcerers' quest to unlock the 'Monster Corral' quest. In this quest, you will be able to catch your first monster egg. This Monster Egg Guide will tell you everything you need to know about them.
Complete the 'Niccolo's Business Unusual' and 'Tiny Sorcerers' quests, defeating the two little wizards in the process. Enter Domina, and go to the point on the far left of the Domina Map. Take the upper left path, and you will meet Duelle the onion guy. Follow the instructions Duelle gives you and try to catch the monster egg. You will be able to do this easily by putting fruit or meat on its route. Patiently wait for the monster egg to eat the fruit and fall asleep afterward. When if eventually falls asleep, you will be able to catch the egg without any problem. If the monster egg does not fall asleep, you will need to give it more fruit or meat. Once you have caught the monster egg, the Mail Pelican will arrive and transport it to your monster corral beside your house. Now listen to Duelle's instructions to learn how to raise pet monsters. You will have to wait a few Game Day's before a monster egg will hatch. You can however speed up this process by going to the World Map and keep running back and forth between different lands. Every land that you cross causes one day to pass.
Once this quest is complete, you will be able to catch any monster egg from anywhere. The best place to search for monster eggs is boss levels as there is always one there. Keep returning to battle areas until you get a egg and leave food there. You can only have a max of 5 pieces of food placed at a time. Below is a list of monster egg locations.
Lake Kilma
Jungle (boss area)
Jungle (Forest of Faeries, boss area)
Madora Beach (east end), or SS Buccaneer (basement)
Mekiv Caverns
Lyon Highway (boss area)
Tower of Lieres (top floor, boss area)
Bone Fortress (top floor, boss area)
Feig Snowfields (near Garden of Icicle Flowers and boss area)
Note: Sometimes, you can determine the exact type of monster contained in a monster egg by its HP and attack power. For example.
- 'Kid Dragons' have 40 HP.
- 'Sky Dragons' have 68 HP and 13 attack power.
- 'Land Dragons' have 68 HP and 15 attack power.
