Rare Stones in Kirby and the Forgotten Land are special upgrade items that you will not find in normal levels like Star Coins and Gotcha Capsules. This How to get Rare Stones guide will tell you everything you need to know about getting them.
In order to get Copy Abilities you will need to acquire Star Coins and Rare Stones, which unlike Star Coins are not easy to get. You will not be able to find Rare Stones in normal levels, to obtain them you will need to complete Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Treasure Roads, enter passwords at Waddle Dee-liveries, explore the Isolated Isles: Forgo Dreams, or compete in The Ultimate Cup Z.
In total there are 57 Treasure Roads in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and they become unlocked as Kirby gains more Copy Abilities and Mouthful Modes. You will find that some Treasure Roads are hidden and will require you to search for them in the overworld map. Treasure Roads are optional challenge stages that reward a Rare Stone and Star Coins upon completion. They will pop up as you progress through the main levels and to attempt them you must press the A button on your controller when prompted. Although Treasure Road challenges have a Target Time you can aim for, you don't have to beat it to clam the Rare Stone reward.
When you have managed to rescue 50 Waddle Dees the Waddle Dee-liveries postal service becomes unlocked in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. You will be able to explore the Isolated Isles: Forgo Dreams once you have beaten the main Story. There are a total of 5 levels in this feature, each with fragments of Leon's Soul. The levels themselves are basically a combination of all the levels of the previously explored worlds into one level. Although the main objective of these levels is to collect Leon's Soul there are chests scattered around that contain a Rare Stone. There are five hidden Rare Stones in the Isolated Isles.
The Colosseum in Waddle Dee Town becomes unlocked once you have defeated Clawroline in the third world and this will enable you to enter the Meta Cup, which consists of 6 consecutive boss fights with 500 Star Coins and one Rare Stone as a reward. You can grind this repeatedly to get a Rare Stone for only 6 battles.
The Ultimate Cup becomes available when you have completed the main story. This feature consists of 12 bosses with a reward of 1500 Star Coins and 1 Rare Stone. Once you have beaten the postgame, the Ultimate Cup Z becomes unlocked and similar to the Ultimate Cup there are 12 bosses to defeat. The difference is these bosses are much harder to defeat as they have significantly better defense and attack. The final boss you face in the Ultimate Cup Z is Chaos Elfilis, an upgraded version of Fector Elfilis. If you are successful you will be rewarded 1500 Star Coins and 3 Rare Stones.
