Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Finding Waddle Dees
Each of the levels in Kirby and the Forgotten Land has a batch of Waddle Dees you need to find. In order to do so will require exploring every level outside of boss stages carefully. Keep in mind each level also has three secret objectives in really well-hidden places you need to find and complete. The remaining Waddle Dees become free when you complete the level itself.
Secret Objectives
Do not worry if you do not find a secret objective the first time you play a level as they will not be revealed to you until you have beaten it at least once. When you first play a level keep an eye out for brief statements that describes the objective, this can be anything from shooting three flying targets to helping the lost ducklings find their mama. Once you have the clue you will know what you need to do the next time you play through the level. Take a look at our Secret Objectives Guide to find out what these are for each level of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Copy Abilities
Copy Abilities in Kirby and the Forgotten Land will allow Kirby to duplicate and use the talents of specific enemies in combat or to solve puzzles. Whenever you encounter an enemy with a particular ability there is a good chance there will be a puzzle or secret area that requires that ability nearby. Keep in mind that Copy Abilities do not appear in the Weapons Shop until you use them in a level at least once. Take a look at our Copy Abilities Guide to find out everything you need to know about them.
Use Guard
Early on in Kirby and the Forgotten Land you will be able to get away with just using offense, but eventually, you will have to learn how to use the guard ability, especially on some late-game enemies and bosses. Kirby's guard ability can help to mitigate damage and can be performed by using any of the triggers or shoulder buttons (L, ZL, R, and ZR) - all of them perform the same move.
Replenish your Health Bar
Once you have managed to rescue enough Waddle Dees you will have a small dome-shpaed house built in Waddle Town which can be used to replenish your health bar. In Kirby and the Forgotten land you start each level with the level of health you had at the end of the last level which could mean you are running low if you struggled previously. If this is the case you will need to take a quick trip back to Waddle Dee Town and rest in the bed at your house in order to replenish your health bar.
Amiibo
Amiibo in Kirby and the Forgotten Land can be used to get in-game items. Each Kirby-themed amiibo will grant you a useful ability while amiibo not related to the Kirby franchise just drop some coins and a piece of fruit that replenishes health. The boosts and health item you receive by scanning amiibo can be used once and have a temporary effect. You can use a single amiibo once per stage, and a total of five separate amiibo per stage.
