How to Unlock New Characters

In Jumanji: Epic Run you advance and unlock new characters when you piece together the map. Every zone in the game has map pieces which must be restored three times before they become legible, and by restoring all pieces fully will result in you rescuing the next character and unlocking the next level to play in. The order in which the characters are unlocked is Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Ruby Roundhouse, Franklin 'Mouse' Finbar, and finally Professor Shelly Oberon. There are currently four levels with a fifth due to be released soon as a DLC called The Jungle (Night).

To restore the pieces of the map requires gold and gems, half the pieces require gold and the other half gems. It is therefore important that you save as much gold and gems during a level as possible in order to restore the maps and progress in the game.

Every character in Jumanji: Epic Run has four different costumes, each of which determines how much their power ups can be upgraded. The first costume a character has is their default one which will allow you to upgrade their power ups to rank 2. A characters second costume and the first you need to unlock is the Vintage costume which allows power ups to go up to rank 4. The second unlockable costume is the Explorer costume which costs 250 gems to unlock and allows power ups to go to rank 6 and the final unlockable costume is the Mountain Costume which costs 500 gems and allows power ups to go to rank 8.

Dr. Smolder Bravestone

This is the starting character and his special ability is the Boomerang which he uses to clear enemies and obstacles that are in his way. The effect of Boomerang is for a short time only but the duration can be extended by paying gold.

Ruby Roundhouse

When you complete the Jungle level Ruby Roundhouse will become unlocked. Her special ability is Nunchucks which she will use to clear enemies and obstacles that are in her way. The effect of Nunchucks is for a short time only but the duration can be extended by paying gold.

Franklin 'Mouse' Finbar

Franklin 'Mouse' Finbar becomes unlocked after completing The Oasis level. His special ability is Whistle which he will use to call out a Rhinoceros to ride on, which will clear enemies and obstacles that are in his way. The effect of Rhinoceros is for a short time only but the duration can be extended by paying gold.

Professor Shelly Oberon

Shelly Oberon is unlocked after completing The Dunes. His special ability is Compass which he uses to automatically take the correct clear path by geometrics. The effect of Compass is for a short time only but the duration can be extended by paying gold.
