I already bought a Christmas tree when I earned it now sits telling me to get one and I don't have enough LP what do I do?????

Just wait until you have enough LP. I find this to be ridiculous as well. You buy something, but than the Quest won't recognize that you bought it before the quest, and makes you buy another one.
Just complete other Quests and get rewards from The Party Boat and eventually you will have enough LP to complete this Quest.
