I am on the iPad and want to relocate a family to a bigger home,but it will not let me.How do I relocate them?

I did it the long way, brought a bigger house and moved a new sim in, then made that sim have a realationship with a sim in another house till I could get them to move in with the other sim so the big house was empty THEN it let me move the other family into the bigger house! Dunno if there's a quicker or cheaper way it's only way I could work out.
