It can not shower. Only bathe. Tap on a bathtub while your toddler is "active" the option to take a bath will be there. An Adult sim must be inactive in order to sit on the tubs edge and supervise. The adult sim will automatically follow the toddler into the bathroom

They can't shower you are going to have to buy a bath tube that's how your toddler gets clean.
