How do you decrease a relationship status from dating? I cannot seem to reduce the relationship level when the two sims are dating.

You can make them complain to each other, but it takes a long time for that to change the relationship Status. If you are on the goal of creating a dating relationship, your best bet is to have one Sim be romantic with another. It is faster.

Just keep making them be rude and complain and so on until their relationship decreases.
