Hints and Tips for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Ok I will list them all:


#1 gohma -lava boss
-located within dragon roost island
-to beat it simply use the gappling hook on the dragons tale and swing till the rock falls on it 3 times. Then when it has no armor hit it's eye till it comes off.

#2 kalle demos -plant boss
-located within the forbidden forest
-to beat it simply use boomerang on the wires holding kalle demos up the when he falls hit it's head inside till it falls off.

#3 gohdan -guardian boss
-located within tower of gods
-to beat it simply use arrows on hands eyes until the fall asleep. Then the heads eyes will open and shoot those till it head drops and the mouth opens. Then finally put a bomb inside the mouth do that 3 times.

#4 helmaroc king -bird boss
-within forsaken fortress
-to beat it use your skull hammer on it's head till it's haed armor breaks then just start hitting it's head till youve beaten him.

#5 jalhalla -ghost boss
-within the earth temple
-to beat it use your mirror shield to deflect light that is shining from above. Then carry him and bash him into the spiked wall then kill the little ghosts that make up jalhalla.

#6 molgera -sand boss
-within the wind temple
-to beat it use the hook shot on it's tongue and hit it multiple times until it dies.

#7 puppet ganon -puppet boss
-within ganons tower
-to beat it use the light arrows and hit the bulb thing on the tale three times. It will then change into a spider, use the reflection on the water to see where the bulb will be and shoot it times times. It will then change into the final form the snake, just hit it's tale 3 times then you win

#8 ganondorf -holder of evil
-within ganons tower
-to beat the final boss ganon you must first lock on ganon and press A when the A blinks. Do this until ganon slaps zelda(hes annoyed cause she shooting arrows at him) so fight him till zelda wakes up, and zelda will tell you that shell shoot arrows at you and you gotta deflect them so they hit ganon. Once youve done that go close and hold L till the A blinks then press A and you will of jumped and stabed ganon in the head with the master sword.

There finally all the bosses

All you need to do to get this is complete the game.

1st Pic: Wait on the edge of the dock facing the mailbox and wait for this guy in red overalls to show up and stick a letter in the mailbox - you need to take the shot as soon as his hand is near the mailbox.

2nd Pic: Go to the cafe (to get to it, go to the Shop of the guy who gave you your Sail - outside - and to the left of the Shop is a set of stairs, take them up to the cafe). There's a guy standing over in the corner by a table - he's the coward you need to scare. Roll into the wall or throw a pot at him to scare him, then snap a photo of him - quickly.

3rd Pic: Up by the School is a girl in orange and you know that guy who walks around the Town and supposedly knows all of the short cuts, well, when he gets near her, he'll look at her, take the shot of them then!

Scorpion thing in Dragon Roost Cavern- to kill this, get your grappling hook and grapple it on Valoo's tail above and the jump off. Repeat this untill his outer shell is off.

Then get on the ground and grapple his eye. Then, while his eye is down, keep on hitting it `till it goes back up. Repeat untill dead.

Plant thing in the forbidden woods- to kill this, get your boomerang and throw it at the roots AT THE TOP, not the 7 or 8 at bottom trying to kill you.

When all the roots at the top are broken, the plant will fall down and open up to reveal a plant. Hit the plant awhile and then run away, of the giant plant will eat you. Do reapeadiatly untill dead.

Andross-like thing in the Tower of the Gods- shoot your arrows at its hands untill the eyes open. Then shoot arrows at the eyes untill the eyes close and it falls. Throw a bomb in it's mouth and it will take damage. Do this 3 times to kill.

Phantom Ganon- When the phantom throws a blue ball at you, hit it back and forth and back and forth untill the phantom gets hit. Then, run up to it and keep hitting it. Repat untill it dissapears.

Hemalock King- First run up the long stairway and avoid it's beak attack. At the top, the bird will try to block your way. Hit it with your Skull Hammer to knock it in the water. Next, while it on the ground on top of the tower, wait for it to get its beak stuck and hit it with the hammer. When its helmet falls up, you can attack its head untill its dead.

Ghost thing in the Earth Temple. Hit it with the light untill it becomes a solid ghost and sits down. Pick it up and throw it against the VERY spikey part of the walls. When it collides, lots of little ghosts pop out. Kill as many as possible. When all thhe little ghosts are dead, so will the big ghost.

Snake-like thing in Makars temple- Hookshot its tounge and repeadiatly hit it with sword. If you can't lock on to the tounge. Kill the enemies so you can lock on to the tounge.
Note: When you get in Ganons tower the easiest way out is to go in the room with the swithes and hit them in the order the camera shows you.

Phantom Ganon in Ganons tower- This phantom has two new moves: Gaining up on you in Quadrupelets and dissapearing with one left to hit and the other is a big pinkish ball that has little purple things. To not get hurt by the pink ball, do a spin attack to knock `em all back.

When he dies, go in the room the handle of his dropped sword points to. When you are in the big room with the big door again, and Phantom Ganon comes back, shoot him with a light arrow. When he drops his sword. Pick up the sword and throw it against the big door to make it open up.

Puppet Ganon- in his first form, throw a boomerang at the strings and when he's all slumped over, hit his blue ball on his tail with a light arrow 3 times. In his second form, look at his reflection on the waterand get on the side with the blue ball.

When its on the ground, shoot its blue ball with a light arrow 3 times. In his third form, shoot any arrow at its face and sprint toward its blue ball and hit it 3 times with a light arow.

Ganondorf- wait for Zelda to shoot a light arrow at Ganondorf and keep hitting him. When Gaonondorf hits Zelda, do parry attacks to try to hurt him untill Zelda wakes up.

When Zelda has an idea to shoot a light arrow at you, reflect it with your sheild to hit Ganondorf. When you run toward him, he will instantly try to hurt you.

Do a parry attack to...well...I can't ruin the surprise of how you defeat him, but its freakin cool! Hope I' ve helped. One last thing...RATE THIS!!!

I heard that if you make your name Zelda you can Understand the ancient languages on the first quest.Try it!

Now, this is a glitch I found all by myself. Why don't ya try it?
What you require: Ice arrows
Where it can be done: Anywhere as long as there is a Moblin (big pig with spear) there (the Earth temple is a good example).
Who will be affected: You.
How to do it: Freeze a moblin, any moblin. Then pick him up. When he starts shaking, he's about to defrost. Use the "R" button to PUT him down roughly
0.5 - 0.8 seconds after he breaks the ice. With a perfect timing, you will STILL be able to pick him up. This triggers the glitch. You will notice at once if it works.
What happens: No spoilers here, nope. You habe to find out by yourself.
At least I can tell you this: This glitch lead to other glitches as well. It's up to you to find them. See ya!

If you guys thought that the full moon was Perfectly Circular and Pale, you were right. You need a Deluxe/Color Pictobox for this. To get the Deluxe Pictobox, you need to get a Forest Fairy in Forest Haven and give it to Lenzo.

If you want easy traveling do the following in 3 easy steps:

1. Get the hero's bow from the Tower of Gods.
2. Find a Cyclone and approach it.
3. Once Cyclo appears, shoot him three times and get the Ballad of the Winds song ( Ballad of the Winds: C-Down, C-Right, C-Left, C-Up)

P.S. It will only make you go to certain places like Windfall Island, Ouset Island, Dragon Roost Island, and others.

While at Forest Haven, after defeating the boss and you are back where you met the big tree, go to a corner with shiny things flying around it. There will be a colored fairy called the Forest Firefly. Catch it with a bottle(if you have one) and sail out of Forest Haven and go to Windfall Island. Go to Lenzo's house(the one with alot of bricks and talk to him inside. Show him the Forest Firefly and he will be amazed that you have one. He'll take it, upgrade it, and give you a better pictograph with color.

Note: There will be some small missions for you to use the pictograph like at Forest Haven, Windfall Island, and more.

If you are cheap about arrows, you can just try to fire your arow at something wooden or grassy and the arrow will be on the ground. Get the arrow that you shot back and you will have saved some arrows.

The other people who want the item mostly bid "3" more rupees. So no worries, you probably want to bid 10 or more rupees, so the people will get stunned and you'll get a better chance of winning.

If you have trouble finding the 5 Forbidden Tingle Statues, have a Gameboy Advance System, a Gameboy Cable, and the Tingle Tuner (in your Item Menu.) Call him and go to the main places like dungeons, towers, and other main buildings. Using Tingle to look for the Statues, use Tingle's map and find some weird hints that Tingle will notice. Once Tingle notices a rare item hidden somewhere in the room, use Tingle's Bomb (will cost 10 of your Ruppes) and just leave it. Once it explodes, a treasure appears, open it and VOILA, you got a Forbidden Tingle Statue!

Beat the game once and watch through the credits. It will ask you to save your game for a second play-through. Save it to any file and play that file for a new mode. Here is what I've noticed so far:

- You keep the clothes you start with (the blue shirt) instead of Links usual green clothes.
- Aryll is still wearing the shirt the pirates gave her at the end of the normal game.
- Valoo, the Deku Tree and Jabun speak fully in english.
- If you had the Pictobox at the end of the normal game, then you will have it at the start of the new game.
- The Nintendo Gallery will already be open

These are the items you get for Silver and Gold Membership:

Silver Memebership: 30 Points for a Slip for getting Complimented.

Gold Membership: 60 Points for a coupon that makes certain item refilled (Bombs,Arrows,etc.).

Not all the time you have to use Lengendary Photos. You can use the Color Camera to get sculptures of enemies (exp:Red ChuChu) and people (exp:Deku Tree).

Did you know that you can hurt the K.R.L., just use arrows, BomBs, and other hurting items on him but he never tells you to stop.

In the ending of Quest 2 when water fills the area, and you float up, look at the back of your head. It looks like you have the cap own even though you realy dont! (no invisble cloths) but when you come back up, your wearing your quest one cloths!!!

During the ending (the bubble scene) nearly at the end, listen closely! Youll hear the tune!

Ha! It's kind of funny, a spotted pig on windfall island farts when you walk with it in your hands.

Well.... When you come back to Outset Island, your grandmother will be really upset.

Bring a fairy to her with one of your bottles, and she will be happy again! She will give you a bottle of Elixer Soup, which restores all your health. There is also two servings!

P.S. Use your Boomerang on the Big Octo.
P.P.S. There is an Octo Chart that tells you where all of the Big Octos are; go to the Six Eye Reef, destroy/bomb all of the cannons and ships there and get Treasure Chart #26. Go to North Triangle Island and use the Treasure Chart to get the Octo Chart!

1) Behind the Grave by the Jail for Tingle.
2) Follow the ledge around the Gate.
3) Behind the Bomb Shop.
4) In the tree by the dock (roll into it).
Congrats - you just earned a Heart Piece!!!

Ok, I found this glitch by accident while fighting Ganondorf in the last battle.
I thought it would be nice to have a picture of him so I snapped one and saved.
When the credits where done and I opened my file, my bow and arrows were GONE!!! ...but at least I had my picture left...

However, thanks to my hacking skills I could restore the bow with my action replay. Whew!

If you want to test it, then make a safety copy of your file first.

Alright the first thing is DO NOT try to kill it in the stairway area. Once you get to the top take out the Skull Hammer or the Megaton Hammer as refered to in previous games. Try to dodge his flying attacks when he uses them until he lands. When he lands just keep doing backflips or just simply backing up until he tries to peck you. When he does he will get his beak stuck in the ground, this is when the Skull Hammer cones in. Now just lock on and keep hitting him like crazy! After his helmet breaks you can damage him with arrows. I don't know about the boomerang (never tried it). And there you have it!

Okay all you have to do to this boss is go in the light and shine it on him. He will then turn solid and just sit there for a while, and this is your chance. First pick him up and throw him into the spiky pillar on the wall, and when he splits up into all the little solid ghost start killing them. It takes two hits per small ghost. HINT: Hurricane Strike is very helpful. Then he will go back to normal now all you have to do is continue this until you have killed all the little ghosts. And the congrats you just got yet another heart container!

Threat Scale: 2 of 10

Info: I only did this because I like making enemy guides but I doubt anyone really needs it. These guys sometimes hide in pots and leap out, swords drawn when you get near and sometimes they're just kinda' there. Speed: I don't want to have to type these again. Just look for my pink bokoblin enemy guide. If I ever make a green bokoblin enemy guide, then i'll say the same. Funny experience: once there was one in a pot and I knew it was there. I stayed far back and shot the pot with an arrow and it broke. Then I just saw him crouching where the jar was. Once he realized it was gone, he got up and just started walking along as if he was never in a pot.

Threat scale: 3 of 10

Info: These guys are rather dumb, and they have big, slow clunky attacks. They have a fair amount of hp and wield a giant stick usually. When defeated, you may pick up the stick, attack with it, and even throw it! Speed: patrol speed:3 of 10 chase speed: 5 of 10 run for weapon speed: 9 of 10 Funny experience: I was in a hole with a bunch of different enemies on every floor, and once there was a redead, that moves slowly towards you and can immobilize you, and he immobilized me, and then was creeping towards me when a moblin tried to attack me but was out of range and hit the redead insead, and I got de-immobilized!

ok go to windfall island and there will be a tree with a old looking guy walking around and he will chase you if you get close to him and if he gets right next to your caracter (which is different depending on what you named him) will be forced to talk to him. the man wants you to listen to his tale of woe if you say no he will start crying and will tell you to go away but if you said yes he will tell you about how his daughter, maggie was taken away by monsters. he wants you to save her. if you defeat the helmaroc king she will be saved and it will bring you benefit.

first go to the forest haven and by the entrance to the right and scoop the moving speck in a bottle. it is diferent than the other specks because it glows differently than the other ones. go to windfall island and go to the pictographers house. show him the firefly and he will put it in your picto box and... ta-dah you have the deluxe picto box. it can be used to get a few pieces of heart and treasure charts but its sole purpose is to collect the figurines.

After playing one entire playthrough of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (meaning that you went through the storyline and defeated all bosses), the next game that you create will include a few useful bonuses such as:
1. You will already own the Color Pictograph, giving you opportunities to take pictures of people you may have missed in your first playthrough without going through the trouble of getting the Pictograph all over again.
2. Instead of her 'normal' blue dress, Aryll (the sister of your role-playing 'Link') will be wearing a pink dress with skulls on it.
3. When you recieve your birthday present from the grandmother (the Hero's Clothes), you will be unable to see them (unlike the first playthrough), and will ultimately give the impression of wearing the clothes your start out with the entire game.In short, you will look like you're wearing your first outfit throughout the entire playthrough.
4. All conversations in Hyrulian will be subbed, so that you can understand what they are saying, unlike the first playthrough, which leaves the conversations a little mysterious (such conversations include the one with Valoo after the Fire Temple and Jabba when you obtain the Water orb).
5. Every figurine made from your first playthrough will be retained and kept in the Nintendo Gallery (near the Forest Haven) so that you can start/continue a figurine collection.
I believe that these are all of the bonuses included on the second 'New Game +' playthrough of Wind Waker.

In the start of the game go to your house and you'll see a crack in your deck. Crouch and go in the crack. Once in the crack keep going forward until you see a treasure chest with a orange rupee which is worth 100 rupee.

After you save your sister at forsaken fortress, go to C4 or F3 and when you see a cyclone go near it and a red-frog like creature named cyclos will appear,and keep shooting him with arrows until he suurender's and he will grant you the power of cyclones that allows you to teleport to different area's of the ocean.

After being away for awhile from outset island, if you gave the fat lady pigs when you began the game there will be a bigger pig in the pen now. (You must have the power bracelets to lift the pig) Pick up the pig and bring it to the top of the mountain near the bridge, which should be broken, and then walk off the edge where the bridge begins. You should fall with the pig onto a small rock, but after you land the pig will fall right through the rock and dissapear. (Alternately you can hit the pig until it chases you, and lead it to the top of the mountain, but beware when the pig hits you it takes about 3 or 5 hearts away, so watch out).

Ok for those that know the infinite elixer cheat (put grandmas soup on Y, press Y and then start button directly after and put another item on Y). After doing the cheat, instead of just putting another item (telescope, etc) put an empty bottle in the same spot. After your done drinking the 2 helping soup, youll still have the 2 helpings AND 1 helping in the empty bottle you put to replace the 2nd helping bottle. Do this with the other empty bottle that you have if you want. (Note: 1 helping drinks wont give you an extra helping (blue potion, red, green, etc)you must have a 2 helping soup or this wont work).

I recommend you beat the wind and earth temple first, so lets start.
#1 go to you're island that you got from that lady in windfall. Therell be a puzzle to complete for 50 rupees
#2 go to any triforce chart location(where you got the triforce chart) and break those pots beside it. Each location holds about 50-75 rupees
#3 collect skull necklaces and give them to either the rich guy that was once poor or the guy near the bomb shop. The rich guy give 10 each 5=50rupees and the guy near the bomb shop make you play a game if you give him 3 necklaces and if you win ull get 50 rupees
#4 collect boka seeds from the boka plants I recommend you use gapple hook to steal it easy theyre 5 each 20=100rupees

That might not be all but it's worth trying

Heres a really useful tip I found, when you are in either the temples with medli or makar, you can set them on top of doors so they can't get caught or hurt by the baddies.

If you have a GBA connector and a Tingle Tuner you can have help from Tingle. You can have him bomb stuff and make you fly (ECT),but if you use a bomb it cost 20 rupees and to fly it's 50 rupees. One more thing you don't need any GBA game,Enjoy.

Some of you may know this:

At the one place in Hyrule Castle where you get the Master Sword, behind the spot where the Master Sword was, there are some windows with all of the sages from OOT (and I think that theres also one of Ganondorf's beast form, or Ganon).

If you have bombs in your inventory, then go out to one of Beedle's Boat Shop and throw a bomb on top of it and wait for it to expload. It should have smoke coming out of it for a short while.

When you are on the island where you actually get the wind waker(forgot what it was called) After going into the cave, when you start getting attacked by rats in like the 10th dungeon, spread some bait in front of a rat hole. Wait a second, and a rat will come out and will offer to sell either a blue or red potion to you. Take It!!! You will need it for future dungeons.

Phase 1.Level:Easy
After the chat you and Ganondorf(Gandorf or Ganon for short)have,he will turn into Puppit Ganon.Take out your boomerang and target each string that is holding him up.After each string is hit 2 times,use the Light Arrow too hit the ball on his tail.After 2 or 3 hits,he transforms.

Phase 2.Level:Normal
Now Puppit Ganon looks like a spider.Go onto the water and wait for him to stop spinning.When he is done,go to where the ball is,make sure you don't get hit,and hit the ball with a Light Arrow a few times.Then he will transform.

Phase 3.Level:Hard
The hardest phase of all.L-target Puppit Gannon.Ready,Aim,Fire and hope you don't miss the ball on his tail.If you run out of arrows and/or magic,hop into the pot with purple smoke.

If you ever talk to the teacher on Windfall Island she will tell you about the four bad students and blah blah blah. At daytime go to the group of kids and thay will challange you to play a game of hide and go seek. Note you have to catch them to) ( you have to roll to get them because they are to fast for you to run) Locations: 1.On a tree by the coast( note: Roll into the tree to get the kid out of it) 2. Go to the ledge in the town circle thing that leads to the coast if you go right. Stop before you go down. Make a left at the bridge to find a mini tree. A kid is behind it. 3.Behind the grave by the dancing guy. 4.Behind the bomb shop. Once you are done talk to the teacher she will be really happy. Pretty soon, the kids will say they were going to give her a joy pendent for her birthday, but left it in a tree. Roll into the tree by the coast to get it out then give it to the teacher. Now she will be happy and you will be able to give her more joy pendents from Moblins using a grappling hook. Once you give her 20 she will give you your cabana deed( the deed to a resort with a house, pool,and secret hole in the fire place) and once you give her 40 she will give you a hero's charm. ( When you equip it you will be able to see an enemy's health if you lock onto it.

If you don't want to use a lot of health, money, effort, time, magic, ammo, etc on getting treasure I have something to tell you. Have you ever seen those rainbow circles that dissapear when you come near them? Wel, those circles are really where the X's on your treasure maps. So if you ever see one while sailing use a grappling hook to fish it up. So now you don't have to get treasure charts.

If you want to hit Orca to get rupees in the game then follow these directions. First,lock on with L-targeting. Next, use a jump attack ( L+A while holding a sword ) on him then use a back flip ( L+A+Down ). This way he will never have a chance to attack you. Repeat for needed hits. Example: 100

First,you would want to go to Windfall Island. Next,you go to the grave ( if you can not find it go to the mail box from the dock, and turn left. When you come to the guy by there you have to take out your Wind baton, and just let it go for a little bit. Soon the guy will tell you about that is what he was looking for, or something, and will dance. Follow the dance moves he did with your wind baton to learn the song. ( note: the dance moves are,in order, left, right, and down.

When you are on the boss that has two giant hands and a big head on the tower of the gods don't worry about if you run out of arrows. If you do the head will give you some arrows from his nose.

You must have a GBA and a GBA cable for this.

Go to Outset Island. Use the Tingle Tuner and then a blue Tingle should appear. Do all the instrucions that Tingle's Brother says and then you can unlock a new item on the Tingle menu. The item lets you buy stuff like bait, arrow, etc.

To get your house first get 20 joy pendents, then go to wind fall talk to the teacher and she will ask you to talk to her students wich are a gang. Go out side and talk to the leader( hes the one in the hat) He will tell you to play hide and go seek tag with them.

The first kid is on top of the tree by the bomb shop ram it and he will fall down, the second one is behind the bomb shop, the third one is by where you get your sail, and the last one is behind the stone where the guy is dancing.

The gang will tell you that it's the teachers birthday and they want to give her a joy pendent, go to the tree right next to the bomb shop and ram it get the joy pendent and go give it to the teacher.

She will thank you for what you have done now equip the rest of your joy pendents and give them to her. She will reward you with a cabin (house).

Now when you get there get your grappling hook out and look up use it and you can get down to the basement. There is a map to a triforce piece some where in there.

In Hyrule (place where you get the Master sword) If you look at the pictures on the wall one of them has Tetra and her Pirate Gang but it is all made to look like Royalty. It looks funny if you compare them to the normal looking pirates.

1. In the forest haven if you want to refill your magic easily find one of the flowers that shoots you up in the air and go in that and don't touch you analog stick. It will refill your magic.

2. If you shoot some bombs at Beedles ship it will start smoking like the enemys ships always do. Cool huh!

If you get the Ballad of Gales right away after saving Makar (The Korok who plays the leaf Cello) do NOT warp to The Mother and Child isles.

You will land in the Mother isle, where the Queen of Faries lives. She WILL Reject you. Before you can meet her, you need to reach the point in the game where you discover that Tetra is Princess Zelda.

I have tried this! The Queen of Faries will not let you see her until THAT point in the game.
