Hello how can I get the national pokedex I've heard you need it to ttrade to F/R but cannot find it

Trade a Pokemon that isn't in the Ruby pokedex to this game. Example: Caterpie.

I'm pretty sure national pokedex is for Emerald

If it aint in the Ruby/Sapphire Pok�Dex, then you need to trade to another game. Trading to Fire Red and Leaf Green requires getting the National Pok�Dex in FR/LG and beating the Elite Four. Then you trade over if you completed the Ruby/Sapphire Gem quest in FR/LG, then you can trade over.

I think you have to trade a Pokemon found in the national Pokedex (but not found in the Pokemon Ruby pokedex)from FireRed, LeafGreen or Pokemon Emerald onto your Ruby.
