Question for Pokemon Ruby

Hi I'm bog_brush (dont ask about the name) has any one caught a shiny Pokemon and were I have not caught one so I need some tips.

I caught a shiny tentacool (spelling) in the water around Mt. Pyre

It's a black Zubat and I got it in Shoal Cave
I have been trying for ages, maybe there's some trick I did accidentally

Well the chances of finding shiny Pokemon are always better in places with less different pokemon.I have shiny Roselia,Route 117.

I caught a blue Ralts (one of my favorite Pokemon ;D) down near the ledge below the place where the girl is right before Petalburg City, but it's ultra-rare to get a shiny Pokemon. GOOD LUCK!
