Question for Pokemon Ruby

I'm trying to beat the last gym leader. I have a good team at level 50 and stuff... but I can't get to wallence! How do you get past the last ice-floor?

Start at the stairs. Up 1, right 1, up 1, left 2, up 1, right 1. Go up the stairs.
Up 1, left 3, up 2, right 2, down 1, right 3, down 1, right 1, up 2, left 3. Go up the stairs.
Up 1, right 2, up 1, right 2, down 1, right 1, up 3, left 2, down 1, left 1, up 1, left 1, down 2, left 2, down 1, left 1, up 1, left 1, down 1, left 1, up 1, left 1, up 2, right 1, down 1, right 1, up 1, right 1, down 1, right 1, up 1, right1. Go up the stairs. Now go kick the crap out of Wallace!!!!!!!
