Question for Pokemon Ruby

Some peaple say that if you go to the berry Masters house and if say some things to he's wife you get rare berry's.
I try it many times but she don't ask me to say somethings like that.
Whats wrong?

Is the Berry master giving you berries anymore? And are the berries you plant growing?

If not you game clock has gone wrong, and i think you have to send you game cartrigde to nintendo
