Question for Pokemon LeafGreen

This is more about the Gameshark SP than the game. I just got one and found a lot of cheats on the internet, but when I put them in and activate them, the game plays as if I never put them in.

I really need to know why they won't work, or if I need to do something to activate them in the game. (Especially for the -Warp to Birth Island/Naval- Rock cheats. It says you need to press L+R+B/A to warp there, but nothing happens when I press them.) Also, none of the -wild encounter- codes are working, as the Pokemon I want never shows up, or do I need to go to a certain place to find it?

Any gameshark experts out there? Its driving me crazy D:

Well it could be two things. One you entered them wrong. Or two there boguss. I think I saw some cheats to go to birth island on super cheats, but I am not sure. some cheats require a seperate master code. keep that in mind to.

For the warp code you have to activate one at a time
The encounter codes you probably put a number wrong or the version of your game could be either 1.0, 1.1 and you got the wrong code
