Don't listen to actionshark. Fire Red and Leaf Green will feature Pokémon from Gold, Silver, and Crystal as well as Deoxys. In fact, Nintendo will circulate a ticket that can be used to book passage to the eighth island, where you can capture Lugia and Ho-oh! And I mean AND, not OR!

Yes, I saw screenshots of Ho-oh AND Lugia, and Moltres yada yada yada, I'm just completely unsure how too, I think it's a Nintendo event, were they give out certain tickets. Which I think is so unfair -sob-

Yes there is more than the red/blue/yellow pokemon. After you beat the elite 4 and obtain 60 Pokemon, you will get the National Pokedex containing the first 150 Pokemon and then at least 100 more. I think it ends at 386 pokemon.
