Yeah hi I think that the squirtle is the best for the start but the grass poke is also gd 2 start with.

Doom3 answered:

I would say a Squirrtle is the best starting Pokemon because alot of the gymleader's Pokemon are weak against water types and Squirrtle is a water type. Hope this helps.

Shaggy, Ninja Master answered:

Bulbasaur is easy to train. Charmander is fun to train, and Squirtle can learn Ice Beam, which can take out Bulbasaur, and water moves which take out Charmander. I like Bulbasaur or Charmander. Squirtle however, is slow, but powerful.

I would pick Squirtle, you don't get a chance for a water Pokemon for a long time. He learns Hydro Pump at lvl. 56 And he has a type advantage against the first gym leader.

Get a pikachu in Viridian Forest. Get a Pidgey just outside of Pewter, or outside of Pallet, and a Geodude in Mt. Moon. When you get Eevee, evolve it as soon as you can with a fire stone to Flareon, Also, get an Abra!

Abra is very powerful in it's final stage, Alakazam. Trade it and trade it back as soon as it eveolves to Kadabra at lvl. 16. That should be a full roster, and don't skimp on the training. Train early, Train often.

Naughty Ottselot answered:

The best one to start with is treeko.

Master of ghosts. answered:

You are very wise in buying this game, so congratualations! Anyway, yes, I always start off with Squirtle, train up well, keep your team around the same levels, develop strategies and keep an even squad (one grass type, one water type, one psychic type and so on.) These will really help as you go through the game, and don't forget that your rival can show up at certain points so save often! Good luck!

ShadowGX answered:

CHARMANDER!!! He can now learn Metal Claw so he can beat the crap out of Brock. By the time your at Misty he has Mega Kick or Mega Punch to smack her down too. (or just get a Pikachu.)

How can no one support Char?

dudeperson answered:

Squrtile because blastoise is really good against the elete 4
