Pokemon LeafGreen and FireRed are upgraded remakes of Red and Blue.Like Red and Blue each version only has 139 of the 150 pokemon there are(in these games).

You need to obtain the other pokemon that are not in one game by trading with each other, so it's a good idea to buy both versions.

These games are different to Ruby and Sapphire because Ruby and Sapphire feature 350 pokemon(including the originals from Red and Blue/FireRed and LeafGreen).

The games are in the land of Hoenn instead of Kanto which is what FireRed and LeafGreen/Red and Blue are set in.

The only difference is they have some different pokemon, so you have to trade (like usual) from the opposite version to get all pokemon.
