Question for Pokemon LeafGreen

I got a pokemon from a friend that knows an hm move called "DIVE" and I was curious what I need to do to be able to use this HM

Hmmm I was confused for a while, I thought you couldn't use it in battle XD hahaha

Ah there's no where to dive in Kanto (that I know of) if you remember ... erm... or played the gem versions, you'll know that you can only use dive while you're above deep water, which is significantly darker coloured...

Since Kanto waters all have the same colour (places you can surf to) I'm assuming that means you can either dive anywhere you like =D ... or you can't dive at all...

Here's a clue, if you can use the HM out of battle, you should be able to see it as one of those blue HM options while you view your party.

They appear like that even if you can't use the move out of battle yet (that either happened to me in the gems or the natures I can't remember.

They should've passed this trait on) so if you can see the blue option DIVE... then ... maybe you can dive in kanto, good luck finding underwater treasure and tell us if you did =D.

Since there are no undersea trenches as there are in Ruby and Sapphire, you will not have any use for Dive outside of battle in Fire Red and Leaf Green.
