Probably Venusaur, as the grass type is fairly weak and Venusaur's probably the best out of them all.

Ive never really found one but if you catch the snorlax you can get the best of everything, try teaching it solar beam, works wonders at lvl 50

In my opinion, Victreebel is a good choice (Vileplume is good, but substantialy slower) I really don't like that all the grass types are also poison. But you work with what you got, and I think Victreebel is the best

You can still be traded a Bulbasaur. So technically that is still the best option. OP never specified not having access to trades.
