It's a virus that is good in case it is caught on route 102 by your Pokemon using tackle or a gameshark or action reply cheats code can give them the virus.

Pok�rus is the virus in the game where your Pok�mon's level inexplicably rises. If you caught it, you're one lucky person.

(Pokemon Virus-Pokerus)
You can also get it from trading Pokemon, and you will notice about 1 in 30 traded Pokemon will get it. It gives your Pokemon about 50% extra EXP. Points. #TOP TIP#.
Once one of your Pokemon get it you can spread it to all of your pokemon!
Put an infected Pokemon in a "BOX" on the PC and watch as other Pokemon in that box become infected. It will have the Pokerus logo next to the picture when infected.
About 95% of my Pokemon have now got it and I'm still going strong!
