Go to vermilion pokemon center and pick up the VS Seeker that allows you to fight trains over and over again, as long as the batteries remainded charged that only takes 99 steps.
You can also go out to the sea and fight all the pokemon and trainers. and battle and rebattle the pokemon league ....
Plus give your pokemon EXP share.
You get it from one of the guards gates enter the stair case and a scientist will ask if you have caught like 40 pokemon or something, and if so he will give it to you.
