How to Complete the Engine Puzzle

Far: Changing Tides has several puzzles which you need to find the solution for in order to progress in the game. The second of which will be when you see your boat blocked by an old tank that has fallen into the water. This How to Complete the Engine Puzzle will tell you how you can get past it by acquiring an engine that is powerful enough to push it out the way.

Step 1: Move the Box and Feed the Engine

To begin with you need to leave your boat by jumping down onto the tanker from above. Now find the box floating on the water on the other side. Push the box over to the far right and then climb on top of it to reach the next area which will have an engine on rails. Supply fuel to the engine by picking up the scrap piece of metal that is in the area and dropping it into the furnace. Now jump on the bellows, pressing the button above you with your head as you go to heat up the furnace and start a fire so that the engine drives upwards.

Step 2: Drive the Engine

The next thing you need to do is supply the engine on the right-hand side of the rails with some fuel. Use the bellows to start the fire. When the fire is burning, get above it and use the lever to direct it to drive to the left. Once the engine is as far left as it can go you need to leave through the roof exit, so you enter an even bigger engine. This engine must then be driven to the left again but making sure you stop when the carriage is above your boat. If you now press the button on the carriage you will lower the engine so that it installs the engine on your boat.

Step 3: Get Out

Load up your new engine with fuel and start the fire. All that needs to be done now is drive your boat through the tanker. Now that you have an engine you can use it in conjunction with your sail to get your boat up to speed and sailing as fast as possible.
