Evil West Beginner Tips and Tricks

Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Evil West.

Explore Everywhere

In order to advance to further levels it is essential that you continually upgrade your gear. This means it is vital that after every encounter you explore the surrounding area before proceeding to the next area. Keep an eye out for cliffs, cave entrances, or climbable areas as they will often take you to another path which will lead to you getting cash which you can use for upgrades. There is also the possibility you will find chests with skins and hidden perks that you can't get by any other means.

Don't Leave Loot and Collectibles Behind

You will discover that there are certain story-related paths that Evil West will not allow you to return to once you have left them, so you need to make sure you leave no loot and collectibles behind. You can identify when you will be leaving an area by objective markers or if the chains are leading to high or extremely low areas. If you explore areas partially you will be able to get a good idea of which path might lead to the story and which might have some secret area.

Use your Zapper Pull and Zapper Dash Ability

After an hour of gameplay you will unlock your Zapper Pull and Zapper Dash ability which lets you either pull enemies from a certain distance close to you or lets you immediately dash toward them. After pulling or dashing towards an enemy, they will be stunned, allowing you to pull off a combo. Take advantage of this ability instead of sprinting over to enemies or dodging your way through projectiles. Keep in mind also that when you use the Zapper Dash to get away, enemy attacks can't hit you.

Use the Environment

Always look for ways to use the surrounding environment to deal damage to the enemies instead of always relying on punching away at them and using your combos. Examples of this are targeting an enemy and air punching them into spikes around you or shooting TNT blocks to cause damage to multiple enemies nearby. Keep in mind spikes are unbreakable, so you can keep punching enemies into them.

Get the Do Not Disturb Upgrade

Although there are various different upgrades you can purchase for cash in Evil West it is crucial because of the limited amount of cash you will be able to get your hands on that you choose some good ones. It is recommended that one upgrade you invest in early is the Do Not Disturb. This upgrade allows you to remain invincible for five seconds after you heal. It is particularly effective when you find yourself in situations where you are surrounded by enemies as it will enable you to pass through their oncoming attacks unharmed and escape to safety. You will find the Do Not Disturb upgrade early on in the game under the Agent Tools section.

Regenerate Health During Battle

It is essential during battle that you maintain your health and there are different ways to do that in Evil West. When you take down the lower-level enemies they will usually drop health which can regenerate your health bar at least halfway. Some enemies will drop health if you target their vitals multiple times. If you perform a takedown on an enemy that is glowing yellow during a battle you will be granted health regen.
