Open the mine's gate

Walkthrough

You'll find a merchant walking around the Ancient Quarry North Entrance. Talk to him to accept this quest. Finishing this quest will provide a shortcut going to the Shadow Fort. Before entering, make sure you have your lantern ready.

Once inside, head to the southeast portion of the map to find a pressure switch. Step on it to access the room containing a Quarry Key. Continue to the southwest portion of the quarry to find another pressure plate. This will open the gate and technically complete the quest. The area is filled with tons of materials and items so make sure to check every chest and corner. The only real threat here are the three ogres. Make sure to kill all enemies inside then return to Alon to complete the quest.

Note: Alon will set up shop inside. Behind him is a table that has a chest containing a random weapon and several gold pouches that replenishes over time.
