Collecting the 7 Dragon Balls

In the game, you have the chance to collect the rare seven Dragon Balls. Doing so will allow you to summon the mystical dragon Shenron and have him grant one of your wishes. But how do you find Dragon Balls?

By simply defeating random Time Patrollers. These Time Patrollers also drop Hercule Badges which you can sell for a lot of Zeni so they're also good for farming for money. The earliest Time Patroller you'll encounter is in PQ #02: Prepare for the Attack of the Saiyans. For more information, check our Money Farming 1 method.

Later in the game, you'll be able to farm Hercule Badges and chance to get more Dragon Balls. In PQ#15 The Explosion of Namek, you have to defeat a full-powered Frieza within 3 minutes to trigger a Time Patroller to appear. This attempt take only 3-4 minutes per run, though the appearance of the Time Patroller isn't guaranteed even if you defeat Frieza as quickly as you can. Follow this page for more details.

Another important note: the chance of getting another dragon ball diminishes as you get more, making it harder and harder to find the last one. Dragon balls are also unique so you don't have to worry about getting a duplicate. Just keep defeating those Time Patrollers until you collect all 7.

How to Summon Shenron

Once you have all the dragon balls, bring them to the central shrine in the Plaza of Time. Interact with the pedestal there and select Yes to summon Shenron.

Wishes

Take note that you can only MAKE ONE WISH per summoning. After that, the collected dragon balls will be scattered to be collected once again. It's possible to make multiple wishes but you will need to repeat the process of hunting Time Patrollers and hope that they drop the balls again.

Once Shenron appears, you have to make one of the available choices as your wish. Refer to the list of unlockables depending on the wish below:

• I Want Money! (Gives you you with 500,000 Zeni)
• I Want a Rare Item! (Gives you the Power Pole accessory)
• I Want to Dress Up! (Gives you one item from the "Journey to the West Outfit Set")
• I Want to Get Stronger! (Gives you Z-Soul crafting items)
• I Want to Grow! (Your level will be increased by one)
• I Want a New Ultimate Attack! (Rewards you with new Ultimate Attacks)
• I Want a New Super Attack! (Rewards you with new Super Attacks)
• I Want More Useable Characters! (Unlocks new characters)
• I Want a second chance at Life! (Resets your stat points so you can allocate them again)
• I Want to be Drop Dead Gorgeous! (Allows you to create your character again from scratch)

Since collecting all seven Dragon Balls is not an easy task, you have to choose carefully what you really want. The best choice will be the new characters since there is no other way you can get them in the game. Next would be Ultimate Attacks and Super Attacks.
