Experience

Experience is required to level up your game, which is in turn necessary to be able to upgrade your Headquarters and so unlock all those sought after buildings and structures. You primarily gain experience by Building and upgrading - it is an indication of how far your have progressed through the game. When you level up, as well as being able to (sometimes) upgrade your Headquarters, it also affects the cost of attacking the enemy.
