Below are the different powers that you can unlock by defeating various enemies and bosses you encounter as you progress through the different areas of the castle. If you want to unlock the true ending you will need to unlock each of these movement upgrades in a specific order. #1 - Craftwork:
Craftwork is the first shard you collect. It is a manipulator shard that allows you to move heavy objects. This movement power is earned by defeating the boss of Dian Cecht Cathedral.
#2 - Double Jump:
The Double Jump movement power is earned by defeating the boss of the Livre Ex Machina.
#3 - Reflector Ray:
The Reflector Ray movement power is earned by defeating the boss of the Underground Sorcery Lab. This can be accessed from the train station.
#4 - Aqua Stream:
The Aqua Stream movement power can be accessed from a special shard dropped by a Deeseama in the Forbidden Underground Waterway. The enemy which can only be accessed later from a special angle resembles an octopus.
#5 - Deep Sinker:
This is a permanent movement upgrade which is earned by defeating Alfred, the boss in the Hidden Desert. Deep Sinker allows you to walk underwater.
#6 - Invert:
Invert is a permanent movement upgrade earned by defeating the boss in the Inferno Cave. Only accessible after collecting the water walking upgrade from Alfred. Invert lets you flip the world and ‘fall’ up.
#7 - Dimensional Shift:
This is the final movement power and it is unlocked after you defeat Gremory in the Glacial Tomb.
