10 Things We'd Like To See In Pokemon 4th Generation Remakes

Smaller Legendary Storylines

One of the better things from the original 4th Generation Mainstream Pokemon Games - something that has since been rather lost in the franchise since them - are that of smaller Legendary Storylines that stand apart from the main plot. I still so vividly recall the extra story of Heatran back in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, as well as later in Pokemon Platinum, directly after defeating the Elite Four and finishing the main game. And lets not forget saving the young child from the hold of Darkrai, as well as having to search the region for the roaming Cresselia and finding Shaymin only after delivering Professor Oak his sacred letter.

It was awesome to have each of these smaller stories that gave of these Sinnoh Legends their own little side quest, and it’s something I know many of the older Pokemon Fans miss when it comes to the newer Mainstream Pokemon Games. Nowadays, you just don’t see this extra time and effort put into each and every legend on behalf of the Pokemon Company. In the Fifth Generation Games, there was literally no storyline whatsoever given to the Swords of Justice Trio or the Forces of Nature Trio (outside of Landorus, sort of). In the Sixth Generation Games, due to the lack of Legends in general, there was literally nothing more to the main story that revolved around either Yveltal or Xerneas. Seriously, there wasn’t. The Seventh Generation Games did a little better with this by giving the Ultra Beasts there own storyline with Looker, but still, the bulk of those games still had to do with only the Cover Legends.

If the Pokemon Company wants to do right from all of us fans of the 4th Generation Pokemon Games, then they will build off of the originals and gives us even more side stories with the Non-Cover Legends.
